The Natural Resource Company, LLC. is introducing the Aquatic Pesticide Application System (APAS), an innovative, precision application system designed to enhance the selectivity, efficacy and user-accountability for chemical applications to aqueous environments.

The prototype system, housed in a sixteen-foot aluminum airboat, is customizable to a variety of specific application configurations. The APAS, in its current configuration, will deliver at a rate of 1oz/per acre to 12+gal/per acre and at speeds from 5 mph to 30 mph. It features a 10’ to 20’ boom-injection system that offers either subsurface or topical application options. The device also can be configured with a Hand-application wand for precision applications in hard-to-negotiate areas.

The system, in its current configuration, can apply up to three different pesticides simultaneously, as a combination or on an individual basis, if necessary. The device’s pesticide capacity is approximately 135 gallons.

The APAS is outfitted with a 375 HP high performance marine motor with a cellular phone, marine radio, Lowrance sonar, pilot to co-pilot communication, Satellite Differential GPS and a state-of-the-art computer system operating on a Windows® 2000 professional platform. The APAS has an empty draft of 4 inches and is very useful in aquatic areas where conventional outboard motors are ineffective.

The genius behind all of this technology is that the APAS was designed to factor in specific project parameters such as area, water volume, plant species (or other aquatic pests) and water quality parameters all integrated into a real-time geo-referencable digital map. During application, a map-based application controller continually monitors the aqueous environment and project variables, such as target species, depth, speed, product flow and output as well as GPS position. APAS then automatically adjusts the product flow through valves and flow meters, to deliver a precise concentration of pesticide to the water’s surface or through a boom-jet-injection system. The prototype has also made it possible to distribute granular pesticides or pesticide slurries with suitable dispensing equipment configured into the present system.

The Natural Resources Company, LLC. has invested substantial dollars in research and development of APAS. The company has recently been approved for a patent protection on this technology. During the research and development of APAS, and the period of time that the patent was applied for, published and granted, The Natural Resources Company, LLC. has discovered a number of application firms have been using a variety of less sophisticated variations of its now patented methods and technologies.

The Natural Resources Company, LLC., knowing that APAS is both completely field-tested and patented, intends to reach out to the aquatic pesticide industry and applicators and offer them the significant advantages to APAS licensing offered exclusively by The Natural Resources Company, LLC.

The first, and most obvious, advantage to acquiring an APAS license is the advantage of ensuring that your organization is fully compliant with existing patent protections ensured by the U.S. Patent and Trade Mark Office. The intellectual property of any business is a prized possession and The Natural Resources Company, LLC. is not unlike any other company.

The second advantage may be even more compelling, however. APAS, as it was designed to be used, is a highly sophisticated piece of scientific equipment that offers finite application capabilities previously unattainable in a single product offering. By acquiring an APAS license, applicators will open themselves to a consultative relationship with APAS’ inventor and access to years of R&D as well as customizable configurations of the system that better suits each environment. Given this prototype is field-tested and patented, vital product support and training in using this equipment will be made available as part of the APAS licensing agreement through both workshops and seminars.

Finally, and most importantly, APAS is obviously a first generation product. The R & D division of the Natural Resources Corporation, LLC. plans on developing future generations of APAS that will offer even more capability and functionality. As these advancements and perfections occur, those licensed applicators holding valid APAS licenses will be the first to be made aware of these exciting product evolutions in the coming months and years.

The Natural Resources Company, LLC. is committed to keeping APAS at the forefront of technological evolution for the aquatic pesticide industry and its applicators. The need for verifiable product improvements is always a high priority for companies committed to high quality analysis, research and habitat restoration.

Your willingness to participate in APAS licensing creates lasting relationships that will lead to future product innovations, and ultimately, a more sophisticated and caring management approach that will benefit aquatic ecosystems around the world and those right in your backyard.
